welcome
Welcome to Wings of Emunah, where healing, growth, and transformation are at the heart of everything I do.
I am Emunah (Amy) Rappaport, a licensed clinical social worker with over 23 years of experience in mental health and therapy. With a Master’s degree in Social Work and an Advanced Certificate in Family Therapy from Smith College School for Social Work, my journey has taken me through diverse roles—from outpatient therapist and nursing home social worker to director of a shelter for adolescents and youth services director. I’ve also had the privilege of teaching psychology at the college level. Furthermore, I am very excited that I will be teaching at the Path Center in Jerusalem this winter.
Living in Israel, I offer clinical supervision for social workers, consultancy services for adolescent programs, comprehensive mental health education, and psychotherapy for individuals, families, and groups. My approach integrates evidence-based practices like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with a deep respect for the spiritual dimension, particularly within the context of Jewish faith.
I’m also passionate about helping people find their soulmates as a shadchanit, focusing on relationship challenges and personal growth. I’m a proud member of a holy group of women in Tzfat dedicated to supporting others in their journey toward meaningful connections.
Through Wings of Emunah, I bring a unique blend of compassion, commitment to truth, and a strong belief in the power of God’s love to every aspect of my work. Whether you’re seeking support in navigating life’s challenges, healing relationships, or embracing your spiritual path, I’m here to guide you with expertise and heart.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups for adolescents and adults
I provide Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups tailored for adolescents and adults. DBT is an evidence-based treatment developed by Marsha Linehan at the University of Washington, designed for individuals navigating trauma and other significant life challenges.
DBT comprises four core modules: Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, Mindfulness, and Distress Tolerance. Interpersonal Effectiveness enhances relationship skills, while Distress Tolerance equips individuals with strategies to cope effectively with painful events. Emotion Regulation teaches skills for managing emotions in a balanced manner, and Mindfulness promotes present-moment awareness. Through these modules, clients often report experiencing a meaningful improvement in their quality of life, including reduced suicidal thoughts, based on both my observations and research findings.
Expert Consultation on
adolescent mental health
I specialize in providing expert consultation to schools and various settings on adolescent mental health. Additionally, I provide expert consultation to schools and various settings on adolescent mental health, alongside offering tailored therapy for adolescents.
Adolescents often navigate significant challenges, especially in environments affected by intermittent conflict and war.
I establish a secure and supportive environment for teachers, school personnel, and members of youth-serving organizations to openly discuss concerns related to the mental well-being of children and adolescents in your programs.
Prior to our engagement, we will carefully review your school or organization's confidentiality guidelines, particularly concerning issues such as suicidality.
I look forward to our partnership bringing together our strengths to serve the adolescents in our care.
Family Therapy
I specialize in family therapy aimed at strengthening and improving family relationships and communication, particularly when children are facing challenges either at home or in school.
Children often express their internal struggles through their behavior, signaling that something may be amiss in their emotional landscape. For instance, a child might exhibit behaviors such as throwing objects or, in more severe cases, acting out towards animals. Drawing from my extensive experience, I have found that family therapy serves as a potent and effective intervention to decipher and address these behavioral challenges, which can be daunting for children to articulate directly.
In my practice, I adopt a comprehensive approach by meeting with children or adolescents and their caregivers. Over the past 23 years, I have worked extensively with a diverse array of families grappling with various presenting issues: including children and adolescents who were suicidal, engaged in self-harm (such as cutting or burning themselves or animals), survivors of sexual and physical trauma, individuals experiencing difficulties in forming relationships, tantrums, and various other emotional and behavioral challenges.
Testimonials
“Amy Rappaport was my therapist when I was in my late 40’s she was so kind, a great listener but also helped me move forward out of my trauma, giving me steps on how to do that.
I felt so comfortable with her and felt that she truly cared - anyone that chooses her to work with us in great loving hands - she helped me so much in my life. “
“During my time working with Amy, she was attentive, authentic, and person centered. Those that enter the work force as a therapist do so because they care deeply and want to make a difference in the lives of those they are serving,
Amy not only cares deeply, she feels deeply Amy is able to freely extend love and compassion towards her patients free of judgment and with the utmost professionalism.”
SUPERVISION
In my supervisory approach, my primary goal is to create a safe and open space where therapists can genuinely explore and discuss their feelings and thoughts experienced during clinical sessions with clients.
I place a strong emphasis on examining both countertransference and transference dynamics that emerge in your work with clients. Through our supervision, my aim is to equip you with practical tools and insightful suggestions that will enhance and refine your therapeutic practice. With years of experience, I deeply value the therapist-client relationship as the heart of the healing process, making supervision the ideal setting to explore this crucial dynamic.
I am enthusiastic about collaborating with you and look forward to our discussions as we navigate the complexities of clinical practice together.
